1. The most common mistake made when a urine spill happens 2. The effect urine can have on your carpet long term 3. Some old wives tales that don't work
1 The most common mistake made with urine cleaning Its Saturday morning,.you have just woken up and there is a strange smell in the house. You can't pick it at first but then it comes to you. The urinals at the kids footy club after training and hang on its summer and you have not been to the club for at least 3 months...... Panic sets in as the realisation occurs that the smell is in your home ......... You stagger down stairs in your dressing gown, search for a while and there it is. Your favourite couch with a large wet spot slap right bang in the middle and an enthusiastic pet standing beside it looking sheepish. Blast I forgot to let Rover out last night...... Step 1. DO NOT apply water, soda water, vinegar, disinfectant, detergent or any other well meaning recommendation you can find online as you will simply spread the contamination and make it worse. The first step is to neutralise the urine using Odarid Pet Stain and Odour Remover. If you use any other product you will not destroy the components of the urine and look out in a couple of months time when that horrible pong keeps reappearing. Step 2. Wear gloves and douse the area by gently pouring the solution from the container ensuring all urine has come into contact with the chemical. Place a plastic tray underneath the couch to catch any drops or a thick towel. Let the product stop foaming and then reapply giving a heavy application to ensure the product has come into contact with the urine. Step 3. Place a dehumidifier in the room next to the furniture and leave it on for one full day. That\'s it you are done. No pong and no future problems
The effect urine can have on your carpet To eliminate urine is a very technical thing and if it was as simple as throwing water and vinegar on the urine we would be out of business. At Odarid we do alot of urine treatments and the bulk of the jobs we see have already been treated with other peoples chemicals or home remedy solutions that fail and make things worse Urine contains 4 main components and unless these are eliminated the odour will keep emerging for many years to come. Just as no two pets are alike, neither is their urine. Urine components vary over the pet's life due to diet, medications, age, health, sex, quantity of water intake and reproductive cycles. Differences in urine concentrations and chemistry can have different effects on carpet with varying outcomes. Urine can affect the dyes used in carpet, although not all occurrences will result in a permanent stain. Success is dependent upon the content of the urine, the dyes and finish used, and the time elapsed after the contamination. Some urine spots may be immediately noticeable, while others may take weeks or months for a reaction. The dyes may change color immediately after contact with urine or take months. When urine stains develop slowly and are not noticed for a few months, the dyes and carpet fibers may be permanently damaged. In beige carpet, blue dyes are attacked by pet urine, leaving behind the red and yellow dyes with a resulting stain appearing red, yellow, or orange. Another problem, especially with cats, is odour. Unless the cat urine can be completely removed, complete odour removal is unlikely. A number of products are available to combat odour, but may simply mask it, and, in times of high humidity, the odour will reappear. We back our product 100% and have spent considerable time and money researching the techniques of urine elimination. Our product is manufactured right here in NZ using our own formulation Our product is leading edge and is years ahead of the competition Thanks for reading and we hope your urine accident days are few and far between Faeces contaminations should be treated in the same manner. Do not rub it by using detergent or water. Scrape up the bulk amount and then douse with Odarid Pet Stan and Odour remover. The product will foam up and if you are able to scrape the foam off please do so. Leave for 5 mins then wet vac out or just leave it in the carpet. The next day reapply the product and scrape more foam off This will eliminate the faeces and allow cleaning in the future if required.
